What I’ve learned
this has been an interesting two weeks, but I’ve learned something..
never insult someone whose musical tastes consists solely of has been white trash cabaret rock from the 70’s, they get really insulted and they get really angry and will leave you semi-coherent rants to delete in your comments.
(point being, you’re entitled to your opinion I’m entitled to mine, but I’ll be damned if some Meat Loaf fan is going to try to give me a piece of her mind)
American Idol update
well folks, I’ve had alot on my mind so I apologize for the lack of posts.. here it goes
In my opinion tuesdays performances were really lackluster and mediocre at best. All of the hopefuls did an even worse job this week. No one really even stood out at all. But I must say I am really satisfied with the outcome, Amanda Overmyer is not unique at all, the so called alternative has already been done. Daughtry, Constantine, hell even Twitchy McSoul-Patrol all tried to be the Anti-Pop Idol. Everyone eats it up but it gets really old, REALLY old. I was dieing to see her scream her way through an R&B or a disco song, “WOW! Love to LOVE YA BABY!!!!”
Now If America can just see fit to put the country girl out of her misery than we’ll be set.
I think the fix is in
American Idol, other websites and news sources have been widely publicizing as well as criticizing the show for what appears to be the inclusion of 2 possible “ringers” into this seasons hopefuls. Well regardless of current or previous recording contracts anyone that’s had that type of exposure shouldn’t be allowed to compete. The other issue I have is with the male contestant David Archuleta, he’s had previous experience on talent shows (the 2003 version of Star Search). The contestants who don’t have previous tv or industry experience seem to have the odds against them.
Yes.. another Top 10!!
this time, I’d like to do my Top 10 of 90s Rap (as I see them) and In NO particular order
1. A Tribe Called Quest
2. Beastie Boys
3. De La Soul
4. The Digital Underground
5. House of Pain
6. Salt n Pepa
7. Kid n Play
for the last 2 spots I’ll mention all the obvious choices, like Biggie, Tupac, the Fugees or Big Pun, those are all obvious but I was trying to aim for the not so obvious
the reason wasn’t to make all these words appear on a search but rather to just wax nostalgic on Happy Rap, before people were straight outta Compton, when Dee Barnes was hosting Pump It Up and when it was ok to smile in a rap video
Do you remember the 90s?
