a different kind of blue
it has definitly been an interesting month to say the least
Whenever actors, musicians, etc; start to pass away in groups.. I , like mostly anyone else, feel sad. This sadness is only magnified because of a personal situation involving a loved one and mortality. Im trying to figure, where does that connection start? When do we adopt these celebrities as our personal heroes or friends?
I’ll try to aim for something more cheery next post
…dealing with it
the bulk of my sadness and lament has come from being in a not so ideal work situation. so the end result? limiting the exsisting situation and taking on a new situation. What do I mean by that? well.. the situation that I didnt like I have possibly turned that into a part time situation and have taken on a new responsibility full time.
Is it ideal? no, will it meet the need? yes .. and what will the end result be? possible burn out but possible peace
Conversations with the past
This past Monday I had the pleasure of seeing a one man show presented by the Florida Humanities Council and the local NPR station. Charla, A Chat with Jose Marti. My words wouldn’t do it justice, Jose Marti, masterfully portrayed by Chaz Mena, engages the audience in an enlightened discussion about Cuba’s past as well as present. The ultimate message delivered by Jose Marti is universal and reaches out to any nationality and both genders, about love, patriotism, keeping an open mind and being optimistic.
leading a calmer life
I really don’t know if it has to do with my recent daliance with cigars and cigar smoke but things seem a tad more calmer recently. almost like being hypnotized in an Office Space kind of way. I dont know.. maybe Im just crazy
Ralph Nader STAY HOME PLEASE!!
I can’t say too much because I’m only basing this off of Yahoo Headlines but PLEASE
RALPH NADER!! Stay home for the next 8-10 Months! We don’t need you messing up another election!!!! You’re effort is noted but you’ll do us all a big help by NOT RUNNING!! There are more than enough qualified candidates out there. This statement isn’t meant to insult nor degrade the Green Party or Mr. Nader.
Viva Cuba Libre!!!
2-19-08, this has definitely been a very emotional day for many cubans and cuban-americans alike. The main headline of the day, Fidel Castro steps down from the Cuban presidency (DICTATORSHIP). It seems like a stretch to think that Fidel or his brother WON’T continue their brand of tyranny. There are still many politcal prisoners languishing in cuban jails. There are still many publications and tv and radio shows in cuba that aren’t allowed to tell the truth or give their own opinion on the government. Many have died in an adopted homeland dreaming of the day that they could return. Many have suffered, many have risked their lives for a chance at freedom. It does offer atleast a bit of hope, Tyranny will ultimately fail, people will reclaim what is rightfully theres.
I’m still hopeful
things come and go, so do opportunities. I still remain hopeful. NOT only will we have a new home sometime soon…. but I will be happy… grr I can’t say too much. .. but soon. Needless to say certain situations have me quite anxious so laying all my cards out here would leave me quite vulnerable.
my answer to “something like life”
most of you might agree, the majority of you wont agree..
my life, or at-least the partial focus of it right now is different than it used to be 15, 10 or 5 years ago. The weather part (coldness and such) is explainable by the long distance move. Every other part of it though… I just think its different because I’m in a relationship, thats not a negative thing, far from it. But all the things, all the aspects of stuff that I noticed that were different were things that I did alone, singularly. So life isn’t bad, change is good. Life will change when we open up and let go, it can be subtle or it can be blunt. Love is good, it bit me on the ass but love is good
