just another day

Update

aside from the fact that I have a lot on my mind, I really haven’t felt the need to blog on American Idol because it was mostly forgettable this week. The only standouts were The Dingo who sang “We will rock you”, David Porkchop who sang the anthem to a new gay theme park and Suzy Sensitive who did her usual Tori Amos impersonation (sans the attitude).  Everyone else really fell by the wayside as far as I’m concerned. Chikeze Furshizzle received his walking papers Wednesday night setting the stage for David the PorkChop to win… hey, he may or may not. He just seems the most logical choice, next to the Columbian Rasta man

Top 5

5. Clerks 2, it didn’t match the success of the original but it did give you a few things to think about  Clerks 2

4. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, even though the hapless duo didn’t fade away with their premiere outing, this movie did provide alot of good laughs

3. Dogma, a lot of food for thought that any lapsed catholic can understand.

2. Mallrats, a day in the life of 2 best friends as they ponder life, while they loiter and try to avoid La Fours

1. Clerks, the mothership of the Kevin Smith empire, a true cassic that everyone can identify with, at-least in one aspect, whether its having a friend who just doesn’t care, having a dead end job or being disrespected by customers

American Idol update

well folks, I’ve had alot on my mind so I apologize for the lack of posts.. here it goes

In my opinion tuesdays performances were really lackluster and mediocre at best. All of the hopefuls did an even worse job this week. No one really even stood out at all. But I must say I am really satisfied with the outcome, Amanda Overmyer is not unique at all, the so called alternative has already been done. Daughtry, Constantine, hell even Twitchy McSoul-Patrol all tried to be the Anti-Pop Idol. Everyone eats it up but it gets really old, REALLY old. I was dieing to see her scream her way through an R&B or a disco song, “WOW! Love to LOVE YA BABY!!!!”

Now If America can just see fit to put the country girl out of her misery than we’ll be set.

why bring back the bachelor?

Sunday night, the only thing that I can barely even watch is the crying show (Extreme Home Makeover). A commercial comes on for the hottest show (of 2001) The Bachelor, this seasons apparent twist is that a british man gets to tell these women that he just wants a one night stand (C’mon they all can’t be as annoying as Tristan and Ryan <sp?> ). Well back to my point, as if I had one, the commercial featured an excerpt of this years bachelor speaking into camera and saying “….I’m here to take your women….” (or something really close, I didn’t write it down).. so in true reality tv fashion the editors have possibly taken a line out of context, for all we know this man could possibly be joining the priesthood after this is all said and done and he was just showing his distaste for the show or I could just be really bored at work .

wednesday nite idol

izadavid cook

it’s a stretch but i think that david cook looks a little liza-ish

male revue fans in arizona rejoice, david her-nan-dez is making his way back to slinging his genitals sooner than he expected. apparently teen girls (or as i like to call them fox execs) have decided to keep the whirling country dervish and decided to oust hernandez who did a worse job at “Saw her standing there” than tiffany did 20 years ago. And Lily Munster is still in the competition.

why do I complain?

ya know, for someone who doesn’t like American Idol too much this season I tend to write alot about it.

my take on what happened tonight, in my opinion most of the performances were forgettable. The stand outs, The Australian did an excellent job on Across the Universe. Bugsy Moran did an ok job I guess, btw I mean the former Irish teen idol. Lily Munster managed to astound and confuse me yet again. The one blond country girl did an excruciating job out of Eight Days a week. The one guy Mr. Cook aka Mr 1981 Liza Minelli Hair did a good job out of Eleanor Rigby. And the other blond sensitive pg-13 girl did a boring job.. i don’t even remember what she sang.

My vote for this weeks sinker is country blond.

TV Observations week ending 3/9/08

this will be fragmented.. the same way I think.

my thoughts on American Idol, if you believe the votes are truly being counted, than America is definitely going in all different directions. I mean how can you get rid of someone so subtle and so subdued like Danny Noriega? How can you leave in Lilly Munster? sarcasm aside I do not remember that woman’s name

Big Brother 9 (is it 9? I’m losing count), ok aside from gimmicks, this season is very harsh and very brutal to watch. The “couples” angle lasted to this past week, then it all went screwy… and I got bored and lost interest.

SNL w/ Amy Adams, i have to admit that I couldnt stay awake for the whole 90 minutes, but from what I did see I wasn’t disappointed. From Amy Poehlers take on the “Project Runway” designer (the one with the Shwaa emullet (emo-mullet) )) to Kristen Wiig and Amy Adams in the spoof on the Olsens/Sprouse twins. Hot mess~

nothing else really stood out to me, well the Soup did but I watch it every week and I’m usually entertained.

a thought on Nader

Ralph Nader is running as an independent. When even the Green Party doesn’t take you seriously, it’s time to reconsider your candidacy.

- Jim Barach

I thought this was rather funny….
