week
really melonchaly week. Had a prospect come and go, rejection sucks. Nothing really good on TV, the shenanigans have continued on American Idol (
alexis). The bank is screwing me over this week and work is so so… Thank God for The Soup!
one man can make a difference.. in cheeseland!
when I was a child of six, I liked what most six year olds liked. This includes the world of Knight Rider. So it was a no brainer that I would watch NBC’s much hyped Knight Rider revival. This 2008 tv-movie seems more like a 2 hour Ford commercial, from Val Kilmers over dub of Kitt to the unnatural dialogue, this movie was just too corny. But for the sake of nostalgia it did fulfill a little bit of nostalgic longing. I guess when compared to David Hasselhoff’s crap-tastic dialogue from the original show this movie doesn’t stray too far. I still consider myself a fan, the Hoff not withstanding
Ralph Nader STAY HOME PLEASE!!
I can’t say too much because I’m only basing this off of Yahoo Headlines but PLEASE
RALPH NADER!! Stay home for the next 8-10 Months! We don’t need you messing up another election!!!! You’re effort is noted but you’ll do us all a big help by NOT RUNNING!! There are more than enough qualified candidates out there. This statement isn’t meant to insult nor degrade the Green Party or Mr. Nader.
well…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Somethings amiss on American Idol, I mean, they got the whole get rid of Leif Garrett’s little mini-me correct, but keeping that raspy voiced rocker chick? And I know I sound insane alexis but as you’ll recall I successfully called who was going to win last year. The votes don’t seem to count, but then again it IS reality tv, yet it seems that reality plays LITTLE into it.. Go ahead alexis, start yelling
I think the fix is in
American Idol, other websites and news sources have been widely publicizing as well as criticizing the show for what appears to be the inclusion of 2 possible “ringers” into this seasons hopefuls. Well regardless of current or previous recording contracts anyone that’s had that type of exposure shouldn’t be allowed to compete. The other issue I have is with the male contestant David Archuleta, he’s had previous experience on talent shows (the 2003 version of Star Search). The contestants who don’t have previous tv or industry experience seem to have the odds against them.
I was just thinking
I figured while I was on the subject of Cuba I’d take a minute to write about something that I’ve noticed for the past few years. Something that irks me is Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s face emblazoned on t-shirts and being glorified by people like Rage Against The Machine. Please don’t fool yourselves, DO some research, That man was a killer. He wasn’t a good person, he didn’t have the best of intentions when he involved himself with Fidel Castro’s campaign to seize control of Cuba. They murdered their way across Cuba and took land and property that belonged to decent people who did nothing wrong. Castro and Guevara were opportunists who murdered people, I keep reiterating that point because I have family who died during the revolution. So next time you’re at Hot Topic or listening to Rage, THINK!! And take off that stupid t-shirt, the man was a killer
Viva Cuba Libre!!!
2-19-08, this has definitely been a very emotional day for many cubans and cuban-americans alike. The main headline of the day, Fidel Castro steps down from the Cuban presidency (DICTATORSHIP). It seems like a stretch to think that Fidel or his brother WON’T continue their brand of tyranny. There are still many politcal prisoners languishing in cuban jails. There are still many publications and tv and radio shows in cuba that aren’t allowed to tell the truth or give their own opinion on the government. Many have died in an adopted homeland dreaming of the day that they could return. Many have suffered, many have risked their lives for a chance at freedom. It does offer atleast a bit of hope, Tyranny will ultimately fail, people will reclaim what is rightfully theres.
Yes.. another Top 10!!
this time, I’d like to do my Top 10 of 90s Rap (as I see them) and In NO particular order
1. A Tribe Called Quest
2. Beastie Boys
3. De La Soul
4. The Digital Underground
5. House of Pain
6. Salt n Pepa
7. Kid n Play
for the last 2 spots I’ll mention all the obvious choices, like Biggie, Tupac, the Fugees or Big Pun, those are all obvious but I was trying to aim for the not so obvious
the reason wasn’t to make all these words appear on a search but rather to just wax nostalgic on Happy Rap, before people were straight outta Compton, when Dee Barnes was hosting Pump It Up and when it was ok to smile in a rap video
Update 2/16
a boring saturday, just the way I prefer it. Not feeling angry which is a good change of pace for me. The house issue is up in the air, other than that.. things are ok.
yeah, wait, what?
Who the hell watches DANCE movies? Are you kidding me? I can understand dance shows, there’s about 3 dozen dance reality shows. Like 3 on Fox that are related to American Idol in some in-direct way, 1 on ABC, 1 on MTV. But a movie?!? And there’s 1 that has a sequel. Because the first “Step Up” left soooooo many unanswered questions. Well as long as there are young naive girls out in the suburbs there will be urban dance movies out there to let them feel “hood”
